Pattaya:A grieving mother is pleading for help as she suspects her 19-year-old daughter, Sai Mai, may have been framed for murder after allegedly falling from a condo with her 59-year-old foreign boyfriend.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Prathumma, the 39-year-old mother of the deceased, sought assistance from Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, the founder of the "Sai Mai Must Survive" Facebook page, regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding her daughter's death. Sai Mai fell from a four-story building on Khao Phra Tamnak in Pattaya. Ms. Prathumma disclosed that her daughter had been in a relationship with Mr. Martin, a Danish national, since 2023 and had been subjected to frequent physical abuse by him.
In late August, the situation worsened when Sai Mai was severely injured after being thrown to the ground by Mr. Martin, leading to her hospitalization for nearly ten days. To escape the abuse, Sai Mai rented a separate room as a refuge. On the night of September 13th, Ms. Prathumma, her daughter, and Mr. Martin went out together, during which a heated argument occurred. Sai Mai requested to return to their accommodation to resolve the matter privately. The next day, Ms. Prathumma learned from locals that her daughter had fallen from the building during an argument with Mr. Martin. Sai Mai was critically injured and later passed away on September 16th.
Ms. Prathumma has expressed doubts about the official account of her daughter's death, which states that Sai Mai was hallucinating from drug use and jumped. She has gathered evidence, including CCTV footage showing Mr. Martin suspiciously carrying her daughter into an elevator, which leads her to believe that Sai Mai did not jump. She is seeking assistance to uncover the truth and is prepared to accept the outcome if it is determined to be an accident or suicide. However, if evidence points to foul play, she intends to pursue legal action.
Mr. Ekkapop has announced plans to contact Pol. Gen. Wasan Techakaraksem, Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, to request a thorough investigation into the case.
