A motorcycle speeding against the flow of traffic on the Paitamjai-Nong Kankrao road in Klaeng district, Rayong province, collided with another motorcycle, injuring three people.

According to Thai News Agency, both motorcycles were traveling at high speed. One was going in the correct lane, while the other was going against the flow of traffic. One motorcycle attempted to slow down and swerve across to the other side of the lane, at which point a solo motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction at high speed collided head-on.

The incident occurred around 12:30 AM (May 16, 2026) on the Pae Thamjai-Nong Kankrao road, behind Wat Saranath Thammaram, Tambon Thang Kwian, Amphoe Klaeng, Rayong Province. Police from Klaeng Police Station, rescue workers, and emergency medical teams from Klaeng Hospital immediately rushed to the scene. They found two motorcycles overturned and severely damaged, with parts scattered everywhere. Three men were injured, all with abrasions. Officials applied splints to a broken leg and immobilized the neck for safety before transporting them to the hospital.

This accident was caused by driving against the flow of traffic, but luckily everyone was wearing helmets, which helped to reduce the severity of the head impact, resulting in a narrow escape from death.

Initially, police at Klaeng Police Station recorded images at the scene as evidence and are preparing to question the injured person in detail again once their condition improves, in order to proceed with legal action.
