MRTA Urges Swift Action on MRT Pink Line Service Suspension

Bangkok: The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) has called on concessionaires to promptly address the issues plaguing the MRT Pink Line, following a temporary service suspension from Nonthaburi Civic Center Station (PK01) to the Royal Irrigation Department Station (PK05). In a bid to mitigate passenger inconvenience, the MRTA has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) to provide shuttle buses.

According to Thai News Agency, the Northern Bangkok Monorail Company Limited (NBM), which holds the concession for the MRT Pink Line, reported an electrical system malfunction on September 13, 2025. This technical issue necessitated the temporary suspension of service on the affected segment of the Pink Line. Meanwhile, operations from Pak Kret Intersection Station (PK06) to Min Buri Station (PK30) remain unaffected.

Passengers aiming to reach Minburi Terminal (PK30) and Pak Kret Junction Station (PK06) are required to change trains at National Telecommunications Station (PK13), with the service running every 15 minutes. The BMTA has mobilized four shuttle buses to assist commuters between Nonthaburi Civic Center Station (PK01) and Pak Kret Intersection Station (PK06), with departures every 15 minutes until further notice.

The MRTA has stressed the urgency of investigating the malfunction’s root cause and performing necessary repairs to restore normal service swiftly. Public announcements will be made once the MRT Pink Line is fully operational again. For updates and inquiries, passengers can contact the MRT Pink Line Call Center, use the Official Line, visit the Facebook Page, or check the service status via the mobile application ‘The SKYTRAINs’.
