Nonthaburi: Muangthong United, a former football giant, is on the verge of relegation after losing 1-3 at home to Rayong FC. Muangthong United, nicknamed "The Kirin," hosted Rayong FC, nicknamed "The Black Horse," at the Thunderdome. Rayong took the lead 1-0 through Stenio Junior in the 12th minute. Then, Methee Sarakham added a second goal in the 60th minute to make it 2-0.
According to Thai News Agency, in the 78th minute, Muangthong were reduced to 10 men when substitute Piyanut Thodsani received a red card for stamping on an opponent. However, in the 87th minute, Muangthong were awarded a penalty, which Melvin Lorenzen converted to bring the score to 1-2.
In the final moments of injury time, Rayong scored a third goal through Stenio, sealing a 3-1 away victory against Muangthong. Rayong now has 27 points from 17 matches, placing them 6th, while Muangthong has 13 points from 18 matches, placing them 15th.
In another match, BG Pathum United hosted Uthai Thani FC. The Glass Rabbits took the lead 1-0 through Yoshiaki Takagi in the 6th minute. Nika Sandokadze then added a second goal in the 13th minute, before Ikhsan Fandi extended their lead to 3-0 in the 24th minute.
In the second half, Sandokadze scored another goal, sealing a 4-0 victory for BG Pathum United over Uthai Thani. BG Pathum United now have 32 points from 18 matches, placing them 5th in the league, while Uthai Thani remain in 10th place with 20 points.
