According to Thai News Agency, Police Colonel Rattathanon Ekathitikulpat, Superintendent of Thonglor Police Station, commented on the prosecution of Mr. Nattawut Wongniem, a former lawyer, who pushed Mr. Somchai Srisutthiyakorn, former Election Commissioner, off his bicycle in front of Thonglor Police Station yesterday. He stated that initially, police charged Mr. Nattawut with three offenses: assault, public defamation, and property damage. However, the suspect "denies all charges," and the investigating officers have granted him bail during the investigation phase.
Therefore, during this time, investigators will gather evidence, prepare the case file, and submit it to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the Southern Criminal District. They will then schedule Mr. Nattawut to appear before the prosecutor for indictment. According to the timeframe for indictment in cases of this nature, it will not exceed 30 days, making it expected that Mr. Nattawut will be brought before the prosecutor by the end of this month.
