Nonthaburi: A heated land dispute has resulted in a tragic incident, as a nephew fatally shot his uncle-in-law and injured four others during a confrontation at his aunt's house.
According to Thai News Agency, the altercation took place when Mr. Anek, a former bank manager, visited his aunt's house to discuss a long-standing dispute over the access road to the property. The conflict, which had persisted for over a decade, took a violent turn when Mr. Anek pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing his aunt, Mrs. Suda, and her husband, Mr. Sanga. Four other individuals present in the house sustained injuries during the incident.
Police apprehended Mr. Anek at the scene and have charged him with premeditated murder. Relatives expressed concern over the unresolved issue of vehicular access to the property, fearing it could lead to further serious conflicts. They were shocked by the fatal outcome, as Mr. Anek was previously described as a good person. The land under dispute was subject to an easement, and the family did not anticipate the disagreement would escalate to such violence.
