Bangkok: The New Opportunity Party is actively campaigning in Bangkok's Don Mueang district, advocating for a comprehensive welfare state aimed at reducing inequality among residents. Kanoknut, a candidate for Member of Parliament from the Opportunity Party, is promoting the idea that poverty should not begin at birth.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sirawit Chuangseng, spokesperson for the New Opportunity Party, and his team have been campaigning in Don Mueang district to support Ms. Kanoknuch Klinasang, the party's candidate for Member of Parliament, number 9. They have been introducing themselves to the public and presenting the party's policies, focusing on high living costs, access to welfare, education, and the healthcare system. The campaign emphasizes the notion that "Poverty should not begin at birth," declaring it a guiding principle for implementing welfare policies that reflect the realities of people's lives and aim to establish financial security for Bangkok residents.
Ms. Kanoknuch Klinasang pointed out that many individuals in Bangkok, including those in Don Mueang, still face inequality from pregnancy and childcare to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. She criticized the current welfare system as insufficient and inconsistent, stating that it leaves citizens to bear risks in a fragile economic environment. The New Opportunity Party advocates for a welfare state that treats its citizens as investments rather than charity cases. The party proposes a comprehensive approach to welfare from birth to death, focusing on investing in people as the country's most vital resource.
Ms. Kanoknuch further stressed that a robust economy must begin with stable lives for its citizens. She committed to bringing the votes from Don Mueang into parliament if elected, with the aim of pushing for welfare policies that address actual needs and create new opportunities for people in meaningful ways.
