Elversberg: Nicholas Mickelson, a Thai-Norwegian defender, has made history by becoming the second Thai player to appear in the German Bundesliga after his club, SV Elversberg, secured promotion to the top division.
According to Thai News Agency, Mickelson's team, Elversberg, achieved a significant victory in their final match of the German Bundesliga 2 season against Frausen Mnster, winning 3-0 at home. This win allowed them to accumulate 62 points from 34 matches, equating them with Paderborn but surpassing them due to a superior goal difference, thus earning the runner-up spot and subsequent promotion.
During the decisive match, Mickelson was initially named as a substitute but made his mark by entering the game in the 79th minute, replacing Lass Gnther. This appearance marked Mickelson as the second Thai player to play in Germany's top league, following in the footsteps of "Coach Heng" Wittaya Laohakul, who played for Hertha Berlin in 1979.
