NSC Proposes Increased Compensation for Thai-Cambodian Border Clashes


Bangkok: The National Security Council is preparing to propose to the Cabinet a request for increased compensation funds for the Thai-Cambodian clashes. The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) is set to propose an additional 577 million baht in compensation for citizens and officials affected by the second round of clashes on the Thai-Cambodian border.



According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), announced after the 18th NSC meeting of 2025 that the meeting reviewed the compensation criteria to make them more appropriate. This review aims to expedite the payment of compensation to citizens, police officers, and soldiers who were injured or killed, through an appropriate process.



In addition, a proposal has been made to increase the budget for compensation payments to those affected, totaling 577,300,000 baht. This is the second round of compensation for those impacted by the Thai-Cambodian border clashes. The proposal will be submitted to the Cabinet for approval next week, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
