Bangkok: The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has lifted the control order against Bangkok Christian School after the situation eased. The Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) has also revoked its control over Bangkok Christian College, reinstating full administrative rights to the school.
According to Thai News Agency, the decision to lift the control order comes after a resolution by the Private Education Commission. This move returns management rights to the school's licensee, in line with the educational needs of the students, as the initial reasons for control no longer exist.
OPEC had taken control of Bangkok Christian College in 2019 due to internal unrest and budget management issues. This intervention aimed to restore normalcy and address the teaching and learning disruptions. Legal issues regarding the school's property have since been resolved by the Administrative Court, paving the way for the return of authority to the school's management.
OPEC stressed that the action was conducted transparently and in compliance with the rule of law. With the necessity for control lifted, the school can now focus on managing and enhancing the quality of education, fulfilling its potential as a long-established private educational institution.
