Paethongtarn Supports Thailand’s Countermeasures Against Cambodian Border Incident

Bangkok: Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, has publicly expressed her support for Thailand's countermeasures against recent incidents involving Cambodia at the Thai border. In a statement, she condemned Cambodia for initiating violence and emphasized that the Cambodian side was the first to use weapons, firing from a long range into Thai territory. This act, she noted, was a violation of international law and principles, affecting officials and civilians.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn highlighted past efforts by Thailand to resolve the situation diplomatically. She stressed that the Thai government has consistently aimed to prevent escalation through negotiations and peaceful methods. The security sector report confirms that all relevant agencies are operating at full capacity to bring an end to the violence and restore peace swiftly.
