Bangkok: Actress Paetongtarn Shinawatra, accompanied by her children and grandchildren, paid a visit to former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to mark the Songkran, or Thai New Year, celebrations.
According to Thai News Agency, the visit took place at Klong Prem Central Prison, located on Ngamwongwan Road in the Lad Yao Subdistrict of Chatuchak District, Bangkok. A total of ten family members, including Mr. Panthongtae Shinawatra (Oak) and his twin sons Tony and Tina; Ms. Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong (Aim) with her three children, Pinthara, Pinnara, and Chinwakkin Kunakornwong; and Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra (Ink) with her sons, Thithar and Prutthasin Sukhsawat, participated in this "Close Family Visit" activity. The visit was organized as an alternative celebration for the Songkran holiday in 2026, under the theme "Spreading love on Thai New Year." This marks the 57th visit by family members.
Currently, Mr. Thaksin has been incarcerated for 7 months and 14 days, with only 18 days remaining before the suspension of his parole.
