Bangkok: Police Lieutenant General Ruddhaphol Naowarat, the Minister of Justice, has addressed the current status of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's parole application, indicating a lack of information on the matter.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Ruttapol stated that despite the Shinawatra family's indication of filing this month, no official information had reached his office. He noted that neither the prison authorities nor the Director-General of the Department of Corrections, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, nor even the Minister himself had received any updates. The parole process, as outlined by the Minister, mandates that it undergo evaluation by three separate committees: the prison, the Department of Corrections, and the Ministry of Justice. Pol. Gen. Ruttapol emphasized his directive that all procedures adhere strictly to legal requirements.
