Bangkok: The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Arsit, is set to revive the "Singha Dam Reunion 2026," an event aimed at honoring five distinguished alumni and fostering connections among the "Singha Dam" alumni. The event is scheduled for August 22, 2026, at the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Arsit Sampanrat, who also serves as the President of the Chulalongkorn University Political Science Alumni Association, has extended an invitation to both current and former students of the Faculty of Political Science to attend the 'Singha Dam Sampan 2026' event. The theme for the event, "79 Years of Honor and Commitment," will be celebrated with a series of activities throughout the day.
The festivities will commence at 8:00 AM with registration and breakfast at the cafeteria on the first floor. Following this, at 8:30 AM, a ceremony will be held to pay homage to sacred Buddha images and the Singha Dam spirit shrine. At 9:15 AM, a Buddhist ceremony will take place to honor deceased alumni in front of the Kasem Suwankul Meeting Room, located on the 13th floor of the Kasem Uthayanin Building.
Continuing the day's events, a ceremony to pay respects to teachers will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by the presentation of awards to "Outstanding Chulalongkorn University Political Science Alumni" at 10:30 AM in the Kasem Suwankul Meeting Room. The day will conclude with the Annual General Meeting of the Chulalongkorn University Political Science Alumni Association at 1:30 PM on the 12th floor of the Kasem Uthayanin Building.
The Outstanding Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary professional success, ethical conduct, and societal respect. They have also significantly contributed to the prestige of Chulalongkorn University and the larger community. The awardees for 2026 include four individuals from the Civil Servant Branch: Mr. Piriya Chantadilok, Governor of Trat Province; Mr. Nikorndej Plangkoon, Ambassador to Paris, France; Ms. Arocha Nanthamontri, Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province; Mr. Siam Sirimongkol, Director-General of the Department of Community Development; and one individual from the Academic Branch, Prof. Dr. Chanthana Banphasirichot Wankaew, an Emeritus Professor at Chulalongkorn University.
Mr. Arsit Sampanrat expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the awardees and encouraged all alumni to participate in celebrating this significant occasion, reinforcing the unity among "the Black Lions." "I would like to extend my warmest congratulations once again to the five recipients of the Outstanding Alumni Award. I also invite all Chulalongkorn University Political Science alumni to join in congratulating these award recipients and to be a part of this important day, which will further strengthen the bonds among 'the Black Lions,'" said Mr. Arsit.
