Accra:First paragraph of the news story.
According to Thai News Agency, Pharadon expects a meeting of the three-party whips to finalize the framework for the no-confidence debate. The debate is planned to last three days, from October 27th to 29th, with a vote scheduled for October 30th. This timing aligns with the Prime Minister's travel schedule abroad on October 30th and 31st.
Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, emphasized the importance of directing questions regarding the debate schedule to the government whips. He expressed readiness to negotiate and highlighted the need for rational discussions with the opposition due to the limited timeframe.
When questioned about the possibility of an agreement with the opposition, Mr. Paradorn acknowledged the necessity of discussions, mentioning an expected meeting on October 20th. He noted that the three-day debate timeframe could be subject to further discussion.
Addressing speculation about political alliances, Mr. Paradorn dismissed rumors of a merger between the Bhumjaithai Party and the Kla Tham Party, attributing such decisions to the parties' executive committees. He also commented on photos of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul dining with Captain Thamanat Promphao, indicating that personal relationships should not automatically be seen as political signals.
Regarding potential future political shifts, Mr. Paradorn advised against making premature predictions about the Kla Tham Party joining the government or a cabinet reshuffle following the debate. He pointed out that such matters remain within the Prime Minister's discretion and are yet to be determined.
