Pheu Thai Cabinet Lineup Finalized with Young MPs Taking Key Deputy Minister Roles

Bangkok: The Pheu Thai cabinet lineup is now finalized, featuring three young Members of Parliament (MPs) taking on significant roles as deputy ministers. Piyarat Tiyapairat and Watcharapol Khaokham have been appointed as deputy ministers of agriculture, while Akranan Kankittinant will serve as deputy minister of education.

According to Thai News Agency, the Pheu Thai Party has made progress in submitting the list of cabinet ministers, securing a total of eight positions, which include five cabinet ministers and three deputy ministers. The finalized ministerial positions are: Yotsanun Wongsawat as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; Suriya Jungrungreangkit as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives; Julaphan Amornvivat as Minister of Labour; Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol as Minister of Social Development and Human Security; and Prasert Chantharawongthong as Minister of Education.

The young MPs appointed as deputy ministers reflect a strategic decision by the Pheu Thai Party to inject fresh perspectives into key governmental roles. Akranan Kankittinant, an MP for Kanchanaburi, has been chosen for the Deputy Minister of Education role. Meanwhile, Watcharapol Khaokham, representing Udon Thani, and Piyarat Tiyapairat, representing Chiang Rai and daughter of former Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Yongyuth Tiyapairat, will both serve as Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
