Chiang rai: Unofficial election results for Chiang Rai’s Constituency 7 show Songa Prommuang of the Pheu Thai Party leading by more than 20,000 votes, overcoming his opponent, Suthat Yala of the Prachachon Party. Meanwhile, the Pheu Thai Party’s Facebook page posted a thank you to the public for their support of Songa’s victory.
According to Thai News Agency, on September 14, 2015, at 7:39 p.m., at the voting center for Constituency 7, Mae Chan District, Chiang Rai Province, reporters reported on the by-election for Chiang Rai Constituency 7 to fill the vacant position after the ballot boxes closed at 5:00 p.m. and then the vote counting began. The Chiang Rai Provincial Election Commission Office reported at 7:39 p.m. that Mr. Songa Prommuang, a candidate from the Pheu Thai Party, received 43,229 votes, while Mr. Suthat Yala, a candidate from the Prachachon Party, received 18,252 votes.
This is an unofficial report of 270 out of 285 polling units, representing 94.74% turnout. However, the Election Commission expects to know the unofficial results around 9:00 PM.
While the Pheu Thai Party’s Facebook page posted a thank you to all the people who voted for their trust in choosing Pheu Thai candidates, the entire team is ready to continue working to the fullest extent.
