Pheu Thai Party to Remain in Coalition Despite Potential Kla Tham Party Inclusion

Bangkok:"Chulaphan" has confirmed that the Pheu Thai Party will continue its participation in the coalition government, unaffected by the possible inclusion of the Kla Tham Party. However, the Pheu Thai Party is cautioned against engaging with any ministerial roles.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, the Minister of Labour and leader of the Pheu Thai Party, addressed the party's position amidst the no-confidence debate, following a motion against a Bhumjaithai Party minister. He asserted the Pheu Thai Party's collaboration with the government and expressed confidence that the Cabinet could adequately justify its operations within the legal framework. He described the debate as a chance for the opposition to examine and accuse, while the government could provide clarifications to the public.

Mr. Chulaphan affirmed that there are no issues regarding the vote of confidence, highlighting that the Pheu Thai Party continues to work with the coalition government. He noted that while voting is each member's right, political etiquette dictates supporting and progressing together.

In relation to the selection of senators, which the Pheu Thai Party has opposed in the past, Mr. Julaphan remarked that they must first listen to the debate's content. He emphasized that the process involved has undergone some examination by the Election Commission (EC), and it should be assessed according to established principles and procedures.

Addressing rumors of the Kla Tham Party potentially joining the government, Mr. Julaphan stated that no official discussions have occurred yet. He conveyed that increasing support could stabilize the government but acknowledged the need for further discussions. Ministry allocations remain under the Prime Minister's jurisdiction. He reiterated the Pheu Thai Party's commitment to the original agreement and advised against speculating on corruption issues that have not yet transpired.
