Pheu Thai Party Unveils New Policies at Major Rally in Bangkok

Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party held a significant rally titled "Overhauling the Lives of Thai People: Pheu Thai Can Do It, Vote for Pheu Thai for a Decisive Victory" at the City Hall Plaza in Bangkok. Actress Paetongtarn Krea-ngam took the stage to offer encouragement.

According to Thai News Agency, the event was led by the party's three prime ministerial candidates: Yotsanan Wongsawat, Julapan Amornvivat (as party leader), and Suriya Jungrungruangkit (party election director). Other notable attendees included Nattawut Saikua, Jakrapob Penkhe, Theerarat Samrejvanich, Suksit Srijomkwan, Yanakit Huangsap, David Makarapong, Boonyakorn Damrongrat, Phoorpha Thaitae, and Saowanee Kongwuthipanya.

The rally commenced with speeches at 5:00 PM, emphasizing policies aimed at supporting job creation, enhancing public health, improving public spaces, advancing urban planning, and reducing the cost of living. Specific initiatives discussed included a 20-baht flat fare for the BTS Skytrain and a retirement lottery scheme.

At 5:45 PM, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister and head of the Pheu Thai Party, made her entrance on the party's main stage. Dressed in a white Pheu Thai Party jacket bearing the number 9, she lent her support to the parliamentary candidates at their inaugural rally, marking her first involvement in a Pheu Thai Party campaign event.

The party's prime ministerial candidates subsequently delivered speeches, with Ms. Paetongtarn joining them on stage to receive flowers and pose for photos with the candidates and parliamentary hopefuls.

During the rally, the Pheu Thai Party introduced several new policies, including a co-payment scheme with a 70% government subsidy and 30% public payment structure, a poverty eradication policy for low-income individuals providing 3,000 baht per month, a loan program for Thais engaged in business abroad, and an affordable housing initiative offering homes starting at 4,000 baht per month with no down payment.
