Phimai: Locals in Phimai District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, have discovered an innovative way to generate income by using sound systems to attract and catch grasshoppers, known in the Isaan dialect as "mang jison." These grasshoppers typically reside beneath the surface of rice paddies.
According to Thai News Agency, once captured, the grasshoppers are used to prepare dishes, while the excess supply is sold at the market for 100 baht per kilogram. This method provides the locals with a daily income ranging from 300 to 400 baht, highlighting a unique and effective means of livelihood for the community.
