Phradon Coordinates Flood Relief Efforts with Emergency Center

Bangkok: "Phradon" held a meeting with the Flood Emergency Operations Center to coordinate with all agencies to expedite assistance to the public, emphasizing the division of assistance applicants to meet their needs and urgency.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paradorn Prisananantakul, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, chaired the 1/2025 Flood Emergency Operations Center meeting at the Phakdi Bodin Building. Relevant agencies were in attendance, with some participating via video conference.

Mr. Paradorn opened the meeting by stating that the Flood Emergency Operations Center had gathered information from all complaints received through various channels, such as 1784, 1111, and various pages like Jitasa.com, Fondue, and Hat Yai Flood. This information would be collected and processed, with complaints being divided into categories of yellow and red.

He explained that the red category indicates those who need immediate evacuation, such as the elderly and those requiring urgent medical treatment. The yellow category refers to those who can remain at home, such as individuals whose first-floor homes are flooded and are residing on the second floor but still require food, beverages, and essential items. The center will assign these cases to different colors and provide real-time information, updated hourly, to forward units.

The forward units, led by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, are managing the situation. Zones of responsibility have been established, identifying which agencies are responsible for specific areas. The center will then transmit the information to officials in the respective zones, and personnel will be dispatched to assist the people as needed.
