Pipat Ratchakitprakarn Supports Crackdown on Fuel Hoarding in Ang Thong

Bangkok: Ang Thong: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Pipat Ratchakitprakarn has endorsed a significant crackdown on fuel hoarding in Ang Thong. A special task force, as revealed by Pipat, has been established by the Prime Minister to investigate such activities.

According to Thai News Agency, Pipat commented on the recent raid by the Consumer Protection Police Division (CPPD) in Ang Thong province, where authorities discovered a stockpile exceeding 330,000 liters of fuel. An investigation is currently underway to identify the owner of this fuel depot. When questioned about potential serious actions against those responsible, Pipat refrained from a verbal response but gestured approval with a thumbs-up to the media.

Pipat further highlighted that the committee is expediting on-site investigations and plans to establish a special committee to conduct a nationwide probe into similar activities.

Recent reports also indicate that the Central Investigation Bureau has raided another oil depot in Ang Thong, where they collected oil samples to test for contaminants and ensure compliance with standards. In terms of price gouging, the gas station implicated claimed they had purchased the oil at an inflated wartime price of 40.50 baht and sold it for 41 baht.
