Playground for Equality Opens to Commemorate 72 Years of Thai-Israeli Relations

Nonthaburi: Celebrating the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Israel and Thailand, the Embassy of Israel in Thailand and MASHAV, in partnership with the National Housing Authority, inaugurated a playground dedicated to equality and accessibility. The new 'Israeli-Thai Friendship Playground' is located at the Baan Eua Arthorn Bang Yai (Wat Phra Ngern) housing project.

According to Thai News Agency, the opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Taweepong Wichaidit, Governor of the National Housing Authority, and members of the local community. The playground aims to promote inclusivity and provide a space where children of all abilities can play and interact together.

During the ceremony, Dr. Alona Fisher-Kamm, the Ambassador of Israel to Thailand, highlighted the playground's role in teaching children about cooperation and respect for differences. She emphasized that the project is a symbol of the longstanding relationship between the two countries, fostering future collaboration.

Israel's reputation as a leader in innovation and inclusivity is reflected in this playground, designed to be accessible for children with disabilities. It supports the belief that all children should have equal opportunities to engage in play and social interaction in a welcoming environment.

The playground, open to all, is part of the Bang Yai (Wat Phra Ngern) affordable housing project, which accommodates 7,000 residents, including 1,500 children and youth. Built on a 360-square-meter area, the project underscores the commitment of the Israeli Embassy and Mashav to strengthen bilateral ties and community bonds.
