Bangkok: "Ploy Talay" has refuted claims made by "Lisa" regarding the transfer of the Phuket governor, asserting that the move was aimed at enhancing efficiency rather than being a staged act.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytale Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, addressed the statements made by Ms. Pakamon Nunanan, a party-list MP from the People's Party. Ms. Pakamon had criticized the transfer process, suggesting that frequent transfers were used as a form of punishment and calling for transparency and accountability from the government.
Ms. Ploytalee emphasized that the reshuffling and transfers were intended to benefit the government by facilitating a smooth process and addressing longstanding issues in Phuket Province. She noted that the Prime Minister had instructed the government to suppress influential figures and resolve unresolved matters in the area more swiftly and effectively.
Ms. Ploytalay, a native of Phuket, expressed her understanding of the region's challenges and highlighted the importance of integrated cooperation among civil servants. She praised Governor Nirat Pongsitthiwat for his dedication and capabilities, acknowledging his significant contributions to the area. However, she noted that the Prime Minister and the government aimed to resolve ongoing problems in Phuket promptly, necessitating new leadership to bring fresh perspectives and tangible solutions.
Ms. Ploytalay clarified that the transfer was not motivated by personal gain but was focused on improving the efficiency of governance in Phuket. She countered Ms. Phakamon's understanding by stressing that the civil service is an honorable profession dedicated to serving the nation and prioritizing the common good. She expressed confidence that Governor Nirat would continue to work for the benefit of the people, regardless of his position or location.
