PM Downplays Remarks on Impermanence, Addresses Thaksin’s Travel Restrictions

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has emphasized that her comments about everything in the world being impermanent hold no particular significance. She also addressed the situation regarding former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's potential travel restrictions, noting that if the court does not permit his departure, he cannot leave the country.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, was approached by reporters as she moved from Building 1 to Thai Khu Fah Building. When questioned about her earlier statement on impermanence following a cabinet meeting, she laughed it off, asserting that it was a natural observation without any deeper implication.

Further inquiries were made regarding the legal restrictions that might prevent Thaksin from traveling abroad. The Prime Minister responded succinctly, stating that if the court does not allow Thaksin to fly, then he simply cannot fly. Although pressed on the pattern of court decisions in the past concerning Thaksin's travel for personal reasons, she chose not to elaborate, offering only a smile in response.

In regard to speculation about the appointment of a new CEO at Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), the Prime Minister claimed no knowledge of the matter before proceeding back into the Thai Khu Fah building.
