Police Seize 178,000 Methamphetamine Pills on Mukdahan Bypass Road

Mukdahan: An investigation team from Mukdahan City Police Station, in collaboration with security forces, successfully seized 178,000 methamphetamine pills after a drug trafficking gang abandoned the contraband on the side of a bypass road.

According to Thai News Agency, Mukdahan City Police officers, alongside the 2105th Ranger Force, ISOC officers, and drug suppression police, conducted the operation after receiving a tip-off about a planned drug delivery on the bypass road. The officers patrolled the route until they reached the entrance to Ban Na Toei, Na Si Nuan Subdistrict, Mueang District, Mukdahan Province. Upon inspection, they discovered a green fertilizer sack and a white fertilizer sack on the roadside, with methamphetamine pills found inside the white sack.

The officers set up an ambush and waited for two hours, but no suspects appeared. It is believed that the drug trafficking gang became aware of the presence of law enforcement and fled the scene. The officers seized the fertilizer sacks and the 178,000 methamphetamine pills, which have been taken to Mueang Mukdahan Police Station for further examination. Authorities are now working to track down those involved in the operation, aiming to prosecute them for distributing Category 1 narcotics with the intent to sell without permission.
