Prime Minister Dismisses Reports of Conflict Over Durian Exports to China


Bangkok: The Prime Minister has denied any conflict between the Ministers of Commerce and Agriculture over the issue of durian exports to China. This statement came in response to inquiries about a reported argument during a recent cabinet meeting.



According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, attended the weekly Pheu Thai Party MP meeting accompanied by her children, Miss Thithar Suksawat and Master Phrutthasin Suksawat. During this meeting, she was questioned by reporters about a rumored dispute between the Minister of Commerce and the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives regarding durian exports.



The Prime Minister responded to the questions with humor, asking, ‘What about truce?’ She reiterated that there was no conflict, stating, ‘You said it, there’s no truce at all, there’s none.’ Despite further questions from reporters about the alleged heated argument, the Prime Minister maintained her stance, insisting, ‘There’s none, there’s none,’ before proceeding to join the meeting.
