Bangkok: The Prime Minister was visibly moved to tears by the overwhelming loyalty shown by the people during his visit to inspect public service points before attending the royal cremation ceremony for Her Majesty the Queen Mother. He took the opportunity to commend Governor Chadchart for his commendable management during this significant event.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister, alongside Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, visited and assessed the services provided to the public who came to pay their respects to the Royal Urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. During the visit, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to officials and encouraged them to continue their dedicated service.
Accompanied by Governor Chadchart, the Prime Minister toured various agencies, including medical and cleaning staff, police officers, security personnel, and volunteers. A notable moment occurred when a waste sorting officer praised Mr. Chadchart's leadership, to which he humbly attributed the success to his strong team.
The Prime Minister also engaged with members of the public and officials, sharing friendly interactions and posing for selfies. He commended the government agencies and Mr. Chadchart for their thorough preparations, ensuring ample food, accommodation, and care for the attendees. He noted that the procession to pay respects was managed beautifully and efficiently, with provisions like a royal canteen and government-supplied food and beverages.
The Prime Minister expressed his belief that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration is providing exceptional care, acknowledging Mr. Chadchart's leadership and the volunteer spirit exemplified by the team. He remarked on the heartfelt loyalty observed, emphasizing the importance of reaching out to everyone nationwide to pay respects to the royal remains.
Transportation arrangements were also addressed, with Mr. Anutin indicating that facilitation measures are in place, inviting the Minister of Transport and relevant agencies to present their recommendations. The Prime Minister noted the potential benefit of visiting local attractions like Rattanakosin Island, suggesting it could boost the economy, especially with the "Half-Half Plus" program in place.
Upon hearing reports of people traveling from other provinces on foot, the Prime Minister inquired if this was accurate and urged citizens to communicate any transportation needs to local officials. He assured that efforts would be made to support these noble aspirations, ensuring all citizens could achieve their goal of paying respects.
