Prime Minister Questions Media Over Cabinet Reshuffle Speculations

Bangkok: The Prime Minister addressed the media regarding ongoing speculations about a cabinet reshuffle, emphasizing that no official list exists until it is signed.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister discussed the rumors circulating about a cabinet reshuffle that included Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat transitioning from her role as the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives to Deputy Minister of Finance. During the conversation, the presence of Ms. Narumon led to light-hearted interactions among the ministers, with laughter directed towards her as she smiled and looked at the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister challenged the media, asking, "What list has been released? Is it an official list? Did I sign it? If I haven't signed it yet, then it's not a list." These remarks were made to clarify the situation, suggesting that any circulated list lacked official endorsement.

Further, the Prime Minister responded to media inquiries regarding asset and debt statements submitted to the NACC, specifically concerning the right to rent an apartment in England. The Prime Minister humorously questioned the media's persistent focus on the issue, remarking on the lack of support from the media in portraying it favorably.

When asked about the involvement of a company mentioned in the Panama Papers, the Prime Minister indicated that his lawyer would handle the communication, expressing disappointment over the media's lack of assistance in managing the narrative.

Following the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister humorously requested the contact information of a reporter from his personal secretary, joking about the reporter's relentless questioning. The exchange concluded with the Prime Minister expressing mock frustration upon learning that the reporter belonged to the Isra News Agency, acknowledging the thoroughness of their inquiries.
