Bangkok: The Publishers and Distributors Association of Thailand (PUBAT) has announced its readiness to host the '54th National Book Fair and Bangkok International Book Fair 2026' under the theme 'Read The Legend.' The event will take place from March 26th to April 6th, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, featuring over 200 creators producing content across all platforms to promote the event.
According to Thai News Agency, the book fair aims to revisit the glorious history of the book fair, appealing to readers of all ages, and to reignite the reading culture among the new generation. Visitors will have the opportunity to browse and purchase over 10 million books at special prices. The event will span 30,000 square meters, hosting 1,028 booths from 362 publishers and related organizations.
Mr. Nattakorn Wutthichaiyapornkul, President of PUBAT, stated that the event would reflect the power of "legends" through books and important figures who will return to share inspiration. The fair will include participation from 83 Thai entrepreneurs and 80 international companies from 24 countries, highlighting Thailand's role as a regional hub for the book industry.
The "Bangkok Rights Fair 2026" is scheduled for March 27-28, 2026, as part of a licensing negotiation event. This initiative aims to facilitate over 300 business matching sessions, generating an estimated 90 million baht in licensing sales. Key activities include business matching, copyright knowledge sharing seminars, and international networking opportunities.
The event will be divided into eight book zones, including a new Boy's Love/Girl's Love zone. Attendees can explore various exhibitions and activities, such as "The Light of Wisdom in Her Majesty Queen Sirikit" exhibition and the "Meet the Legends: Meet Your Favorite Authors" event.
A special highlight of this year's event is the collaboration between PUBAT and the Chao Khun Thong Puppet Troupe, featuring full-scale puppet performances and workshops. Additionally, the "Ministry of Commerce's Professional Reader" initiative will engage over 200 content creators to drive publicity and encourage participation, with competitions offering prize money exceeding 245,000 baht.
