Bangkok: The Minister of Public Health has firmly stated that the termination of Dr. Suphat Hasuwanakit's employment was conducted in adherence to established procedures and was not a result of harassment or any form of sabotage against the People's Party's parliamentary candidate. This follows the resolution by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to dismiss Dr. Suphat from his government position.
According to Thai News Agency, Public Health Minister Pattana Phromphat confirmed that the decision made by the Sub-Committee on Civil Servants within the Ministry of Public Health adhered to the regulations and was based on the findings of an investigative committee. The dismissal was part of a standard procedure and not influenced by any external political factors.
Addressing Dr. Suphat's claims of not being given an opportunity to appear before the committee for clarification, Mr. Phatthana countered that Dr. Suphat had been provided with the necessary avenues to explain his position. He emphasized that all relevant testimonies and evidence from the investigation committee were considered and that Dr. Suphat was summoned in line with standard procedures.
The dismissal of Dr. Suphat is part of a larger agenda, with nearly 20 other disciplinary matters currently under review. These issues are regularly discussed, and the resolution regarding Dr. Suphat is not considered an isolated incident or politically motivated.
