Putin Calls for Immediate End to Iran Conflict Amid Rising Tensions

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the Iranian president over the numerous civilian deaths resulting from what the Russian leader called "the armed aggression of Israel and America against Iran," and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. President Putin held a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Peseshgiyan on Friday evening and expressed his deepest condolences on the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Hosseini Khamenei, as well as to his family members, political and military leaders, and many civilians.

According to Thai News Agency, the Kremlin stated that the Russian leader reiterated Russia's firm stance in support of an immediate ceasefire and rejected the use of force to resolve any issues related to Iran or the conflict in the Middle East. He also called on all parties to return to a diplomatic solution as soon as possible.

Furthermore, President Putin revealed that he remains in continuous communication with the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. Meanwhile, Iranian President Peseshkiryan expressed gratitude for Russia's solidarity with the Iranian people as they defended their sovereignty and independence. The Iranian leader also provided the Russian leader with detailed information on the latest situation during the heavy fighting.
