Rail Transport System Preparedness in Bangkok Assessed Before Full Reopening

Bangkok: The Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport has confirmed the readiness of the rail transport system in Bangkok and its surrounding areas as it prepares to return to full service. Recent images depicting the Purple Line seemed to suggest misalignment; however, it was clarified that this was not due to an earthquake. The structural integrity of the Purple Line remains strong and secure.

According to Thai News Agency, after a recent earthquake, the rail system was temporarily halted to conduct a detailed inspection of the infrastructure for any potential damage. Dr. Pichet Kunathammarak, the Director-General of the Department of Rail Transport, provided insights into the situation during a telephone interview with the Saturday News program.

Dr. Kunathammarak reported that thorough checks have been conducted to ensure passenger safety. He reassured the public that all necessary precautions have been taken to maintain the safety and efficiency of the rail system as it resumes full operations. The department remains committed to the safety and reliability of the rail service.
