According to Thai News Agency, following the collapse of a construction crane on Rama 2 Road in the early hours of this morning, which resulted in two fatalities, reports indicate that from 2018 to January 15, 2026, a period of eight years, there have been over 2,510 accidents on Highway 35, or Rama 2 Road, resulting in over 144 deaths and over 1,411 injuries.

In 2018, there were 491 accidents, resulting in 38 deaths and 268 injuries. The following year, 2019, saw 415 accidents, leading to 23 deaths and 275 injuries. In 2020, 406 accidents occurred, causing 20 deaths and 277 injuries, while 2021 recorded 234 accidents with 21 deaths and 116 injuries.

The year 2022 experienced 434 accidents, leading to 16 deaths and 229 injuries. In 2023, there were 263 accidents, with 13 deaths and 139 injuries. In 2024, two major accidents resulted in 6 deaths and 11 injuries. In 2025, a serious accident caused 6 deaths and 26 injuries, and in 2026, a crane collapse initially resulted in 2 fatalities.
