Bangkok: The Red Line suburban railway, in collaboration with the Chatuchak District Office, organized a remarkable event called "Love in the Sky 2026," a sky-high marriage registration ceremony to celebrate Valentine's Day.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suthep Phanpheng, Managing Director of SRT Electrified Rail Co., Ltd. (SRTET), revealed that this event marks the second marriage registration ceremony held on a Bangkok electric train, with the first occurring in 2025. The initiative saw immense interest from couples eager to participate. The Red Line suburban train aims to provide opportunities for couples of all ages to express their love, reflecting societal values of acceptance and respect for individual rights. Couples exchanged vows in a distinctive setting, followed by a scenic tour of Bangkok's suburban landscape. Professional photographers captured these moments on the rooftop of the Bangkok Central Station (BCC), a future site for high-speed rail services.
Participants in the event were entered into a lucky draw on the train, offering prizes such as gold, electrical appliances, and more. Entertainment included a mini-concert by Tukta The Voice and a meet-and-greet with celebrity couples like newlywed Andrew Konin, DJ Song, and Sin Sae To. Attendees enjoyed food and drinks throughout the celebration. This event highlighted the importance of love and respect for human diversity, with the Red Line suburban train aiming to connect hearts in a unique atmosphere.
