Bangkok: Registration opens for the 10,000-seat SEA Games opening ceremony tomorrow (December 3). Walk-ins are allowed at Rajamangala National Stadium for 1,000 people. Mr. Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, revealed that the Organizing Committee of the 33rd SEA Games is now accepting registration for 10,000 seats in Zone W for the official opening ceremony. Registration will begin on December 3rd, starting at 2:00 PM, nationwide.
According to Thai News Agency, the registration process will prioritize first-come, first-served individuals, allowing each registration to include one additional accompanying person. All visitors must present a QR code for identity verification and supporting documents, such as a valid national ID card or passport. Accompanying foreigners must also present their national ID or other identification documents at the checkpoint.
An additional 1,000 seats have been reserved for on-site registration, with priority for senior citizens and the disabled. Registration is available at the designated registration point in the stands of Football Field 1. The opening ceremony, scheduled for December 9th, will accommodate approximately 20,000 spectators: 10,000 seats for the general public, 5,000 for students and the underprivileged, and 5,000 for VIP guests, event organizers, and volunteers.
Cambodia has confirmed the participation of 72 athletes from 12 sports in the 33rd SEA Games, following the closure of registration on December 1st. The names have been submitted, and the registration fee has been paid in full. "Big Tom" Thana Chaiprasit, head of the Thai sports team, disclosed that the Cambodian sports team submitted a total of 137 names, comprising 72 athletes and 65 officials, to compete in various sports including swimming, athletics, e-sports, fencing, gymnastics, jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, taekwondo, horse riding, jet skiing, triathlon, and teqball.
"Big Tom" encouraged Thai sports fans to extend a warm welcome to Cambodian athletes at every competition. To ensure security, the Cambodian athletes will be accommodated in separate hotels from other countries.
