Bangkok: It is believed that if Uten Thawai College relocates from Chulalongkorn University's premises, the conflict between the two institutions will lessen. Dr. Jessada Denduangboriphant questioned the Uten Thawai College administrators about their readiness to provide the land to Chulalongkorn University as ordered by the court. He believes that relocating to a more remote area would reduce the conflict between the two institutions.
According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Dr. Jessada Denduangboriphant, a lecturer in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, commented on the conflict between Rajamangala University of Technology Eastern Campus, Uthenthawai Campus, and Pathumwan Institute of Technology. He stated that resolving the issue requires both physical and educational dimensions. Physically, the two institutions are located very close together. Looking at previous solutions, Uthenthawai should return the land to Chulalongkorn University, and relocating to a more distant area could reduce conflict or violence. This is considered one possible solution.
Regarding the dimension of regular education, general students intend to study, but it has been observed that some students have free time. This may be due to extracurricular activities or insufficient academic study, leading them to engage in fights. As for the plan to relocate Uten Thawai from Chulalongkorn University, Associate Professor Dr. Jesada, speaking as a former member of the university council, stated that the court has ordered Uten Thawai to vacate the premises and return the land to Chulalongkorn University, and legally, all procedures have been completed. However, Uten Thawai has not yet moved out, raising questions about the readiness of the university's administrators. He believes that if the university were to relocate, the conflict between the two institutions would be significantly reduced.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jesada said that if Uten Thani College relocates from the area, Chulalongkorn University will not use the land for commercial purposes. However, a new development plan for the area must be created. He confirmed, however, that the plan will focus on education, research, and various development aspects, not on generating income.
