Revival of the Silk Road: Belt Road Initiative Transforms Global Trade

Bangkok: The ancient Silk Road, which historically connected China to Europe through Central Asia, was established 2,163 years ago during the Han Dynasty. This historic trade route has been revitalized in the modern era under the Belt Road Initiative (BRI), spearheaded by President Xi Jinping. The BRI is widely regarded as the 21st-century Silk Road.

According to Thai News Agency, the BRI represents a significant shift in global trade dynamics, with extensive investments aimed at enhancing connectivity and cooperation among participating countries. The initiative seeks to foster economic growth and cultural exchange by developing infrastructure and trade links across Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The program "Looking at China from Multiple Perspectives," featuring Lieutenant General Chaiyasit Tantayakun, Subcommittee Member on Military Affairs of the Senate Committee on Military and State Security, and hosted by Wacharin Setthakudhan, offers further insights into the BRI. The discussion highlights the strategic implications and the transformative potential of this multi-billion dollar project on global trade patterns and geopolitical landscapes.
