This historic trade route has been revitalized in the modern era under the Belt Road Initiative (BRI), spearheaded by President Xi Jinping. The BRI is widely regarded as the 21st-century Silk Road.
According to Thai News Agency, the BRI represents a significant shift in global trade dynamics, with extensive investments aimed at enhancing connectivity and cooperation among participating countries. The initiative seeks to foster economic growth and cultural exchange by developing infrastructure and trade links across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
