Bangkok: Ros© and Bruno Mars' collaboration, "APT.", has been named the world's best-selling single of 2025 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI). The song has achieved a remarkable milestone in the global music industry, marking a significant achievement for both artists.
According to Thai News Agency, "APT." has sold over 2.06 billion units, which encompasses paid streaming, ad-supported streaming, and digital downloads. This accomplishment makes it the best-selling single globally for the year. The song has also made history as the first winning single on the IFPI Global Single Chart to be primarily in non-English lyrics and performed by artists from outside North America or Europe.
The IFPI highlighted the significance of this achievement, noting that Ros© and Bruno Mars' success with "APT." demonstrates the unifying power of music across different languages and geographic boundaries. This marks a significant milestone for Bruno Mars as well, being his first global number one single since "Just The Way You Are" in 2011.
In addition to the success of "APT.", the IFPI also released a list of the top-selling singles of 2025. Following "APT." are songs like "Golden" by HUNTR/X with 2.00 billion units, "Ordinary" by Alex Warren with 1.90 billion units, "Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with 1.86 billion units, and "Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone with 1.35 billion units.
The success of "APT." reflects a broader trend in the music industry, highlighting how multilingual artists can capture the hearts of audiences worldwide, further transforming the landscape of global music.
