Royal Rainmaking Department Launches Aerial Operations to Combat Bangkok’s Rising Air Pollution

Bangkok: The Royal Rainmaking Department is accelerating operations to drill into the atmosphere to disperse dust in Bangkok. Air pollution levels in Bangkok have soared. The Royal Rainmaking Department has ordered its aerial operations to immediately penetrate the atmosphere and disperse the dust. Aircraft are being used to spray dry ice in four target areas to help disperse dust from Bangkok, its surrounding areas, and the northeastern region. Meanwhile, Bangkok's Air Quality Index (AQI) ranks 12th among the most polluted cities in the world.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Rachen Silaparaya, Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation, revealed that monitoring of PM2.5 levels in Bangkok and surrounding areas this morning showed levels exceeding the standard and posing a health risk to the public. At 7:00 AM, the IQAir website ranked Bangkok, Thailand, as the 12th most polluted city in the world with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 154.

Data from the Meteorological Department indicates that the ventilation rate was low this morning, causing dust to continue accumulating in the air. Therefore, instructions have been given to the weather modification units in Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and Rayong Province to plan aerial operations to quickly disperse the dust from the area.
