Prachuap khiri khan: The Army is taking action! Ten soldiers have been detained for three months after fighting each other in the barracks at Thanarat Camp and their commanding officer has been punished.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Army clarified the incident captured in a video showing a brawl in a barracks involving 10 conscripted soldiers. The Army stated that its investigation revealed the incident occurred on March 27, 2026, at a unit under the Reserve Forces Training Center, Thanarat Camp, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It involved a fistfight among the conscripted soldiers stemming from a personal conflict.
Following the incident, the Commander of the Reserve Forces Center ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the 10 conscripted soldiers who committed the offense. The investigation found them guilty of assaulting fellow soldiers within the unit, under the Military Discipline Act of 1933. Therefore, they were punished with a three-month imprisonment, and further criminal charges for assault are pending.
Furthermore, disciplinary action was taken against personnel responsible for negligence in their official duties and for failing to supervise their unit effectively. This included the duty officer, who was punished with 7 days of confinement; the company commander, who was confined for 7 days; and the platoon leader, who was confined for 3 days. As for the injured conscripts, they have been sent to Thanarat Camp Hospital for treatment.
