Royal Thai Navy Prepares Sea Evacuation Plan for Thai Citizens in Iran

Bangkok: The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy is organizing a contingency plan, known as Plan B, to evacuate Thai citizens in Iran by sea if the situation escalates, leading to the closure of airspace. Admiral Pairoj Fuengchan, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, emphasized the readiness of the Navy to assist Thai citizens in the Middle East, especially in Iran, in the event of a severe crisis.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Air Force will initially take charge of evacuating citizens back to Thailand, following government policy. However, the Royal Thai Navy has prepared a backup plan involving the use of ships for civilian transport if air evacuation becomes impossible due to airspace closures.

The Navy's contingency plans also address possible adverse situations, ensuring preparedness to use maritime resources to safely evacuate Thai citizens. This strategic planning underscores the Navy's commitment to the safety of nationals abroad.

In related developments, the Commander-in-Chief highlighted the implementation of the Minister of Defence's energy conservation policy across all armed forces branches. The Navy has adopted measures to execute this policy, including remote operations for tasks that can be conducted from home and postponing non-essential activities.

To further conserve energy, any necessary travel is encouraged to be done through group travel or carpooling. The Royal Thai Navy has communicated these instructions to all units, aiming for effective implementation of the energy conservation policy.
