Royal Thai Navy to Reclaim Land and Construct Border Fence at Chanthaburi-Trat:

Bangkok: The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy has initiated efforts to reclaim Thai land along the Chanthaburi-Trat border, with plans to construct a border fence. This measure, aimed at securing the border, is part of a broader strategy to ensure no loss of territory.

According to Thai News Agency, Rear Admiral Parat Rattanachaipan, spokesman for the Royal Thai Navy, stated that Admiral Pairoj Fueangchan, Commander-in-Chief, is adhering to the National Security Council's policy regarding the border fence construction at Boundary Markers 52-58. Both sides have agreed to this plan with minimal issues, and efforts are underway to expedite the survey and design process. This border fence is intended to prevent transnational crime, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration, contributing to the security and safety of the local population.

Officials from the Burapha Task Force have conducted drone surveys in the areas of Ban Nong Chan and Nong Ya Kaeo, reporting a decrease in the presence of Cambodians compared to previous observations. The situation remains stable, and officials are maintaining high alert as the deadline for the Sa Kaeo governor's announcement approaches. Cambodians who have encroached on Thai territory are expected to evacuate by October 10th to avoid potential legal consequences.
