Run for the Thai Red Cross Society: 15th Nakhonthon Mini Marathon

Nakornthon: Nakornthon Hospital organized the 15th Nakornthon Minimarathon, "Run with Love for the Thai Red Cross - Save the World," which attracted interest from professional runners, amateur runners, and the general public who were dedicated to "Good Health and Environmental Care." The event was honored by Assoc. Prof. Yandet Thongsima, Chairman of Nakornthon Hospital Public Company Limited, who stated that Nakornthon Hospital not only prioritizes health, but also cares about environmental management. Our planet is getting warmer every day, and environmental problems are one of the main causes of disasters such as floods, storms, wildfires, droughts, and cold snaps.

According to Thai News Agency, the Nakornthon Mini Marathon, now in its 15th year, is being held under the theme "Save The World" to support environmental conservation efforts. This year, all proceeds, after expenses, will be donated to the Thai Red Cross Society's Emergency Fund for Disaster Victims. This project, part of the Society's core mission, aims to provide rapid relief to disaster victims nationwide. However, it would be even better if we all worked together to address the root causes of these problems: environmental conservation, ensuring a sustainable world for all, and minimizing the potential for future catastrophic disasters.

Mr. Thawatchai Thongsima, Director of Corporate Relations and Social Activities at Nakornthon Hospital, stated, 'In addition to encouraging public exercise, all activities are designed to seriously promote environmental conservation. Waste such as plastic caps and bottles are recycled into running shirts, medals, plaques, and souvenirs through an upcycling process. Some production steps also reduce water consumption, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions, resulting in a sustainable environmental impact (Reduce). The event also promotes a waste-to-energy campaign by separating waste and turning it into clean energy, replacing coal. Furthermore, medals can be reused as coasters (Reuse). Everything aligns with this year's theme.'

The 15th Nakornthon Mini Marathon charity walk-run was divided into 2 distances: 1) FUN RUN, a 3 km walk with care, and 2) MINI MARATHON, a 10.5 km run with love. The event received a great response from 2,000 runners who came together to run for health and to preserve the environment. In addition to receiving eco-friendly medals and various giveaways, special prizes were also awarded to the first runners to cross the finish line in order of their age group. There were also photo booths, game booths, and food and beverage booths from sponsors who added fun to the event. The event also encouraged attendees to join the event again.
