Bangkok: "Sarawong" remains undeterred by the potential dissolution of parliament, emphasizing that morale among frontline soldiers remains high despite ongoing unrest in the seven southern border provinces where elections are scheduled.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sorawong Thianthong, deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party, expressed that he was not surprised by the dissolution of parliament, as this sentiment had persisted for some time, and the party was already prepared for the election. He highlighted his primary concern as the inadequate care provided to border residents who have been completely displaced from their areas.
This situation confirms that the dissolution of parliament will not impact the morale of the soldiers on the front lines who continue to operate at full capacity in the southern border provinces. The main issue discussed with the party leader was the potential impact on the nationwide general election if the border situation remains volatile at the time the royal decree setting the election date is issued. Clarification from the Election Commission is awaited on how they will manage the situation if it remains critical in certain areas on election day.
Mr. Sarawong admitted to feeling "worried" as a representative of the border area. Despite the dissolution of parliament, he remains committed to serving the people while also preparing for his election campaign.
