Baku:Satun Heavy rains have led Satun province to issue a yellow flag warning, indicating the potential for flash floods in the Mueang and Khuan Don districts. Officials have urged residents to move their belongings to higher ground and relocate livestock and vehicles to safer locations.
According to Thai News Agency, the continuous downpour since October 24 has caused water levels in major canals to rise rapidly, leading to overflowing banks and flooding agricultural land in certain areas. The Governor of Satun has cautioned residents in high-risk areas to remain vigilant for potential flash floods, landslides, and mudslides through October 28. Additionally, the sea conditions are rough, prompting a prohibition on small boats leaving the shore.
In response to the escalating situation, yellow flags have been raised in specific locations as a high-level warning signal. In Khuan Don district, a yellow flag has been placed at Ban Panjor, Yan Sue subdistrict, while in Mueang district, flags are located at Khlong Chalong, Chalong subdistrict, and Soi Ewa Hak, Khlong Khut subdistrict. These warnings serve as an alert for residents to act quickly in securing their safety and protecting their property.
