Kanchanaburi: Police at Sangkhlaburi Police Station in Kanchanaburi province have detained the 17-year-old uncle and half-sister of 13-year-old Nong Angun and remanded them to Thong Pha Phum Provincial Court.

According to Thai News Agency, both the uncle and half-sister confessed to using a sack to cover Nong Angun's head and strangle her to death before disposing of her body in a rubber plantation. To assist the investigation, a reenactment of the crime was conducted at two locations: Nong Angun's house, where the incident occurred, and the site where her body was dumped. The half-sister has been charged with intentional homicide, while the uncle faces charges of concealing and destroying a corpse.

The Thong Pha Phum court has denied bail to both individuals, ordering their detention at the Juvenile Detention Center in Kanchanaburi.
