This event, held at the Naga Twin Plaza, Wat Lamduan, along the Mekong River in Nong Khai Municipality, aims to strengthen Thai-Laos relations. The festival, marking the 75th anniversary of Thai-Laos diplomatic relations, features food and beverage vendors, concerts by artists such as Atom Chanakan and Ying Lee Srijumpol, a laser light holy water tunnel, and performances of Isan local identity culture. The event will conclude today.
In Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, the Songkran celebrations include a unique water splashing activity with elephants at the Ayutthaya Elephant Palace and Pen. More than 10 elephants, painted with the pattern of the provincial flower of the Senna tree, interact with tourists by using their trunks to splash water. The elephants also dance to music played by a DJ, adding a lively touch to the festivities. Visitors can participate in the water splashing until today on Si Sanphet Road.
Rayong Province also hosts vibrant celebrations, with the TAT Rayong collaborating with the private sector and tourism operators to transform Route 4, Rayong Shopping Mall into "Durian Road." The 400-meter road, named after Rayong's famous fruit, serves as a venue for Songkran water splashing. The "RAYONG DURIAN SONG KRAN FEST" features food stalls, performances by artists and DJs, and a fountain tunnel. The event, which began last night, was organized with the support of various local agencies and concluded at midnight yesterday.
