Bangkok: Tragic news emerged from Bang Bua Thong District as a young steel factory worker lost his life in a road accident. The worker, who was crossing the road to see his girlfriend off to work, was struck by a van and subsequently run over by a pickup truck, resulting in his immediate death.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred on Bang Kruai-Sai Noi Road, near the U-turn at Bang Bua Thong Municipality. A dashcam captured the event, showing the man being hit by a van and his body being thrown before being run over by a pickup truck. Officers arriving at the scene discovered the lifeless body of Mr. Sucheaw, 46, in the middle of the road. A black Hyundai van with damage to its hood and a cracked windshield was located approximately 100 meters from the body. An Isuzu pickup truck, bronze-silver in color, was parked on the opposite side of the road and is believed to have been involved in the incident.
Witnesses, including Mr. Suriya, a 30-year-old coworker, reported that the deceased regularly walked his wife to the minibus stop before heading to his workplace at the steel factory. On the day of the accident, after seeing his wife off on a shared taxi, Mr. Sucheaw attempted to cross the road to his workplace when he was struck by the van in front of his wife, who was still seated in the taxi. She remains in shock from witnessing the accident.
Mr. Apiwut, the van driver, explained that he did not see the pedestrian while driving towards Sai Noi, which led to the collision. The pickup truck driver recounted that he saw an object that appeared to be a black bag fly in front of his vehicle and was unable to stop in time, resulting in him running over Mr. Sucheaw. Both drivers were taken to Bang Bua Thong Police Station for questioning and further legal proceedings.
