Bangkok: The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment confirmed that he did not initiate any legal proceedings against Ingfah Waraha regarding the Thap Lan National Park issue. Emphasizing the importance of addressing public grievances over legal actions, he urged citizens to disregard false information.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, addressed circulating rumors that he had directed his legal team to sue Ms. Ingfah Waraha and others who commented on the Thap Lan National Park issue on social media. He clarified that these allegations were baseless and that he had not instructed any legal actions against individuals.
Mr. Suchart explained that while the legal team had initially discussed the matter as per standard procedure, he opposed pursuing legal action. He stressed the urgency of addressing the challenges faced by residents in the Thap Lan area and ensuring justice for everyone involved.
"I announced yesterday that even if I am accused on social media, it's not as important as the tears of the people affected by the Thap Lan problem. Today, I prioritize solving the villagers' problems over retaliating or prosecuting anyone," stated Mr. Suchart.
He further assured that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) is actively working on resolving the issues in the Thap Lan area in alignment with governmental policies. The focus remains on facts, fairness, and public interest while conserving natural resources and the environment to provide solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
Authorities reiterated their appeal to the public to stay informed with accurate facts and avoid being swayed by misleading information that could create misunderstandings.
